I’ve often noticed how different my mind feels depending on what I’m doing. When I’m deeply relaxed, there’s a sense of ease and clarity. It’s almost like my thoughts are flowing in slow motion. But when I’m doing multiple tasks at once, my brain is buzzing and all over the place. It feels like my mind is running in circles and struggling to keep up. There are also those magical moments when ideas just pour out effortlessly, like the pieces suddenly click into place. Or those times when I’m driving: suddenly I “wake up” and realize I’ve been on the road for half an hour, already almost at my destination, without remembering much of the journey. It’s as if was on autopilot the whole time. Maybe you’ve experienced that too, so weird right! I always was fascinated by this and wondered why these shifts felt so dramatic. I learned now, that they’re not random at all. They’re actually reflections of the electrical rhythms happening inside the brain, so called brain waves.

In 2025, relationships are more complex than ever. Emotional labor is unspoken, digital intimacy is normalized and the line between support and self-sacrifice has become increasingly blurred. In this environment, codependency has taken on new, subtle forms, and many people don’t even realize they’re caught in its grip. Maybe this is the first time you’ve heard the term codependency. Or maybe you’ve heard it in passing but aren’t quite sure what it really means. Don’t worry, we’ll explain it to you in this article. By the end, you’ll not only know what it is, but also how to recognize it in yourself or others and what you can do to break free from it. So keep reading!

Have you ever found yourself snapping in anger, avoiding a difficult conversation, feeling completely numb or going out of your way to keep the peace? Even when it doesn’t serve you? You feel like you respond to situations in a way you would like to do differently. And yet, you do what you do, even if it is not helping you or it is not a proper response to the situation in this present moment. These instinctual reactions are trauma responses, automatic survival mechanisms deeply wired into your nervous system. Fight, Flight, Freeze, and Fawn are protective responses designed to shield you from emotional or physical pain. While these responses may have once been necessary for survival, they can persist long after the original danger has passed, shaping your behaviour in ways that may no longer serve you.

Parentification is a psychological phenomenon that affects many children in dysfunctional or difficult family environments. It occurs when children are placed in a role where they are expected to take on adult responsibilities; often caring for a parent, sibling or household chores, far before they are developmentally ready. Parentification can leave deep emotional scars that extend well into adulthood, making it a critical issue to understand, recognize and address. But what's often not talked about is the emotional weight that comes with stepping into these roles at such a young age. For children who experience parentification, the line between childhood and adulthood becomes blurred. The impact isn’t just about doing extra chores or helping out with sibling care. It goes far deeper, touching on self-worth, emotional health and personal boundaries.

When you hear the term sexual energy, you might think about the physical act of intercourse, but it is far more than just the drive for physical intimacy. It’s a crucial and fundamental life force energy, it is the foundation and essence of life itself. We are made of energy, I’ve learned that sexual energy is the key to creativity, vitality, personal transformation and the elevation to higher levels in all aspects of life. In modern society, we've somehow lost touch with the true power of sexual energy, often assigning it a completely different meaning. We've forgotten just how transformative and essential this force is, even though it holds many answers to questions we all seek. Ancient traditions like Tantra, Taoism and Kundalini practices have long recognized sexual energy as a powerful source that can be harnessed for healing, manifestation and spiritual awakening.

Abraham Maslow, a renowned American psychologist, developed one of the most influential theories in psychology: the Hierarchy of Needs. This pyramid-shaped model explains human motivation, prioritizing the essential needs we all have, from survival to self-actualization. Understanding these levels can help you better navigate your own personal development and identify what drives your behaviour.

Maslow’s theory isn’t just a checklist of needs: it’s a dynamic process that evolves as you grow and change. It’s not about reaching self-actualization and staying there, life’s ups and downs mean that we might find ourselves revisiting earlier stages of the pyramid. It’s a reminder that growth is not linear and requires flexibility, self-awareness and the ability to adapt to new challenges. By reflecting on where you are on this journey, you can make more conscious decisions about how to fulfil your own needs and continue moving forward. Sounds complex? No worries, we will explain it for you in this article.

In recent years, there’s been a rising psychological trend gaining attention: Main Character Syndrome. While it isn’t a formal clinical diagnosis, it’s become a hot topic, especially among younger generations, who are navigating a world dominated by social media, constant digital storytelling and a greater sense of self-awareness. Research shows that as social media and digital platforms continue to thrive, they’ve helped create a culture of individualism where people, especially Gen-Z and Gen Alpha, are building and validating their identities through online interactions (Tiggemann & Slater, 2014). In this digital world, it's easy to see why some may start viewing their lives like a movie or a story, with themselves as the main character.

You’ve likely heard the term “trauma” in conversations or online, but what does it really mean? Trauma isn’t just about experiencing something difficult—it’s about how certain events overwhelm our ability to cope and leave a lasting impact on our emotional, mental, and even physical well-being. It’s a deeply personal experience, varying from one individual to another, and it doesn’t always stem from dramatic, life-altering events. Sometimes, seemingly small or everyday occurrences can have a profound effect, shaping how we view ourselves, others, and the world around us.

The bonds we form with our parents are often the first and most influential relationships of our lives. These relationships shape our understanding of love, trust and emotional safety. However, when unmet needs, neglect or harmful dynamics occur, they can leave emotional scars often referred to as the father wound and mother wound. These wounds aren’t just about what happened in childhood: they influence how we see ourselves, how we relate to others and the choices we make as adults. They have a deep impact on the rest of our lives. Many people carry these wounds unknowingly, unaware that their struggles with self-worth, boundaries, or emotional intimacy may stem from early family dynamics. Left unaddressed, these imprints can create cycles of unfulfilling relationships, self-sabotage, or even physical health challenges like chronic stress or anxiety.
